I am proud to share the news about my upcoming solo show Evolving, curated by Demetri Broxton, It will take place at City of Berkeley’s 1947 Center Street Gallery. The City of Berkeley Civic Arts Program, housed in the Office of Economic Development, promotes visual arts in the Berkeley community by exhibiting works of various local artists. The 1947 Center Street Gallery is a public space located in the lobby of the 1930s era building at 1947 Center Street.
“Evolving” will feature works from my 3 current series Botanink, [I Am] and #SOMOS] series. This will be my first solo show in a public space in Berkeley and a special opportunity to see how these 3 separate bodies of work evolve and connect: Intricate textures, organic lines, and a free use of pointillism are recurrent visual elements that are weaved throughout her work, forming a fluid and fragile mesh that represents how everything in life is connected and constantly changing. The series “[I Am]” (a collaborative project portraying egos or identity labels), #SOMOS] (an un-opinionated tale of Big Hairy Questions), and BotanINK (abstractions of nature) explore this sense of universal oneness and the ever evolving nature of her work.
