“I am” Statement

“I am” is a series of portraits in which the face and its expression are NOT the subject; instead they are representation of moods, abstract concepts, those very intense moments in life when our feelings are so powerful that we become what we feel… and at that ephemeral point in time WE ARE what we feel, in a bubble, untouched, but connected.

The intent is not to portray a person but the experience they are having… hinting to the idea that when we (people) feel something so deeply our perspective on reality narrows…

By deconstructing these random experiences we could de‐clutter the sensation, and understand with more clarity, creating room for empathy.  As we go on with our lives, we have different experiences, but where do we connect?  My hope is that once we identify the plural nature of our reality, we can recognize elements of our shared humanity to help us click and connect.

Paradoxically, by isolating the emotion, universal concepts of love, freedom, denial, anger, and fear change. I intent to connect the people behind them.
