Happy new year!! Growing up people tell you time goes faster when you are older… Ahhh! As with with many things I did not believe them or care. But they were right: and we’re in with both feet in 2014.
This year has started full of projects and plans, and I wanted to share some of the things that will be going on in January and February.
Inspire Artists Who Inspire You
PRO ARTS (150 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza Oakland, CA 94612) features peer reviewed selections of 20 member artists, chosen among 110 submissions.
This exhibition explores how artists support, sustain and participate in the launch of each other’s work, and I have been honored to have my Encaustic Mixed Media self-portrait “[I Am], I Contain Multitudes” featured in the show.
Exhibition Dates: January 21 – February 21, 2014
Artists’ Reception: Friday, February 7, 6-8pm
Collector Art Shop expands to to SFO
Collector Art Shop has carried work from my [BotanINK] series for some time now. With a store nested within steps from Ashby and College Ave, they give visibility to more than 100 local artists, providing a great venue that reflects the flavor of the East Bay arts scene.
They will be opening a second location at the newly remodeled Terminal 3 post-security Boarding Area E (United Airlines) in San Francisco International Airport, exposing work of local artists (mine included) to an international audience in a public space.
Make sure to stop by during community day celebration on January 25 (12 pm to 5 pm) or during your travels through this new space, and support our community.
Show at Hermosa Salon
The folks at Hermosa Salon (2703 COLLEGE AVENUE • BERKELEY CA 94705) will feature a selection of prints and originals from my [BotanINK] and #SOMOS Series in their Elmwood, Berkeley-based beauty salon. If you are wanting to pamper yourself or are simply strolling along College Avenue, make sure to stop by.
Exhibition Dates: January 27 – Sun, March 30
Stay tuned for more details throughout the exhibition.
Last, I am working on two very special public art commissions that I will share more about soon…
