“San Jose had its shark replicas, New York had its cows, and now Palo Alto has its chairs!”
Window Display of Chairs in Downtown Palo Alto storefronts: March 2014
Auction gala: Saturday, March 29, 2014 (more info soon)
The Pacific Art League and the Woman’s Club of Palo Alto are working with me and more than for 40 local Bay Area artists to bring public art to the storefronts of Palo Alto.
They have given us each a beautiful folding to create a piece with: the completed chairs will be displayed in stores around the city starting this March.
I am in charge of one of the 40 original beautiful 1930s-style folding wooden chairs: the piece will be part of my BotanINK series. You can check the work-in-progress photos and a short video below. Additional chairs and styles will join this project as more artists wanted to be part of this fun Public Art initiative.

After the chairs are displayed they will be auctioned off at a gala open to the entire community on Saturday, March 29, 2014. I’ll keep you posted. Proceeds from the auction will be split between the Pacific Art League and the Woman’s Club of Palo Alto and prizes will be awarded to some lucky artists.
